DGUV specification 208-016 “Instructions for handling ladders and steps”

In accordance with the current Industrial Safety and Health Ordinance and the DGUV specification 208-016 “Instructions for handling ladders and steps”, ladders and steps must be checked regularly by a qualified person for their proper condition.

The time intervals for the test depend on the operating conditions, the frequency of use, the stress during use as well as the frequency and severity of defects detected during previous tests.


Shelf Audit

Reliable testing in accordance with DIN EN 15635.

Shelfs and racks audits in accordance with DIN EN 15635 08/2009 must be carried out at intervals of max. 12 months for pallet racking, shelving, multistory systems, cantilever racking, drive-in and drive-through racking, flow racking, manually movable racking, and archive racking.

According to DIN EN 15635, fixed steel shelving systems and adjustable pallet racking require weekly visual inspections and annual comprehensive safety inspections. The employer is responsible for ensuring that this racking inspection is carried out by a “competent person.”
